OIur footy girls are back at it again for the 2021 GSV AFL season!  We wish them all the best for the next few weeks ahead!

GO PLC FOOTY!

Last week Tiya, Grace, Tiffany and Claudia, members of the Interact Club of PLC, participated in the Rotary Baton relay celebrating the 100th anniversary of the group's founding in Australia.

Rotary was established in Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland and Wellington in April 1921, with the group spreading to every corner of Australia and New Zealand.

On Sunday 11th April, the Baton relay passed through the City of Whitehorse, stopping at many significant local places including the PLC campus.

Congratulations to Kalpana Ramani (2003) on her appointment as the newest Committee Member of the historic Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC). Kalpana will bring the valuable perspectives of younger Club members to the Committee. 

She has a long history with the MCC Sporting Sections, having been on the MCC Netball Section Committee since its inception in 2011, where she was the section Chair from 2019 to 2021. 
Kalpana brings to the Committee her considerable expertise in digital services, design thinking and risk management in both the corporate and government sectors.

Recently members of the Senior GSV swim team were in the pool at the same time as our Junior students who have qualified for the SSV State Swimming Championships.

This is the 1st time in many years that girls have qualified for these championships.

GSV swimming captain Emma took some time out to chat to the girls and wish them well at the championships. 

Congratulations to former School Vice Captain Britney Pham (2020) for being awarded the Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs Award for 2020.

This award recognises Britney’s outstanding achievements in volunteering as well as her leadership skills and her commitment to service and her passionate advocacy of women.
