PLC girls achieve amazing, life-changing academic results.

Our unique approach to girls’ learning and development encourages every student to pursue her interests, reaching beyond her limits with the help of staff who believe passionately in supporting her through every stage of development.

Our academic success

PLC's long-term academic results speak for themselves.

Though we are a non-selective school and welcome girls from all walks of life, we consistently achieve some of the finest results of any school in Australia. Since 2000, more than 70% of PLC girls have achieved an ATAR of 90+, placing two out of every three girls in the top 10% of all students in Australia.

This oustanding and class-leading performance is achieved through the excellence of our teaching staff and the care they take, the diligence of our students and the support of their families, friends and peers.

The Class of 2016 full results

In 2016, PLC girls once again achieved some of the absolute finest Year 12 results in Australia. Of the 173 students who completed the VCE or the International Baccalaureate:

  • 4 girls achieved a perfect ATAR of 99.95
  • 9% achieved an ATAR of 99.5+ placing them in the top .5% of Australia
  • 13% achieved an ATAR of 99+ placing them in the top 1% of Australia
  • 24% achieved an ATAR of 98+ placing them in the top 2% of Australia
  • 50% achieved an ATAR of 95+ placing them in the top 5% of Australia
  • 68% achieved an ATAR of 90+ placing them in the top 10% of Australia

The median ATAR for all Year 12 students was 94.90.

As an additional outstanding statistic for the International Baccalaureate (IB) cohort, 15% achieved an ATAR of 99.85+. That means that 15% of girls who completed the IB at PLC were placed in the top 0.15% of students in Australia. That is an incredible achievement!

The College congratulates the Class of 2016 who contributed to every area of school life, in and outside the classroom.

Beyond ATARs and study scores, we are always very proud of the Year 12 cohort and the strength of their leadership, service to others and the contribution of each student to enrich our school community.

Our Year 12’s graduate as the leaders of tomorrow and it is our ongoing privilege to be an integral part of shaping their lives.
